15D curved edge
The glass edge is polished into a smooth curve, which is meant to reduce chipping and feel comfortable under the thumb when you swipe from the border. The curved seal also helps keep dust out of the gap at the edge.
Reinforced tempered glass
Tempered glass takes the scratches and impacts so your display does not. A secondary layer bonds to the screen to hold the glass together if it cracks.

This protector avoids that by leaving a very small margin around the edges. It does not cover 100% of the glass surface, and that is a deliberate design choice, not a flaw in the cut.
